Abstract

A hypermedia application for the web which will assist students during their courses at the institute is currently developed. Expert knowledge is retrieved out of literature and structured according to the content of the lecture. Within the hypertext of the course silviculture graphics, tables and photographs illustrate the scientific knowledge. Students will be able to use an extensive search engine which will retrieve information out of a literature base, the hypertext, a photo gallery and a glossary of silvicultural terms. Within the project authoring tools are also developed which will assist the lecturer in establishing an online course on the web.
