Planning concept Rettenbach/comunity Bad Ischl
Abstract
In the middle reach of the „Rettenbach“ (Bad Ischl, Upper Austria) an inoperative logging dam is located, which is completely filled with bedload. In case of a dam break it is possible, that the whole bed load volume (50.000 m³) will be set free within a moment. Therefore it will be necessary to create a concept of measures to protect the village “Bad Ischl” from heavy damages. The numerical simulation of hydrological and hydraulic conditions shall deliver the basics for this concept. Further the actual condition of the logging dam will be evaluated by taking concrete samples and using the ”finit element method”.
