Innovative approach for a two stage carrier independet supply in urban areas
Abstract
The cargo2go.at project is intended to develop an innovative freight transport concept for urban areas. It is based on a variable hub and spoke approach which uses existing infrastructure as temporary consolidation points and thus, preventing additional surface sealing or expansion. By combining conventional and zero-emission means of transport, the potential of alternative supply concepts (e.g. cycle freight, e-mobility, etc.) will be evaluated, considering various business, goods, and transport specific needs. The potential of innovative and emission-reducing concepts will be evaluated numerically by the development of generic methods, taking into account essential aspects (emissions, cost, surface sealing, etc.).
